ในการประชุมภูมิอากาศโลกครั้งแรก (The First World Climate Conference)  ซึ่งจัดขึ้นที่เจนีวา ประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ ระหว่างวันที่ 12 - 23 กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2522

• COP1 การประชุมสมัชชาประเทศภาคีอนุสัญญาฯ ครั้งแรก จัดขึ้นที่ เบอร์ลิน สหพันธ์สาธารณรัฐเยอรมนี ระหว่างวันที่ 28 มีนาคม - 7 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2538

• COP3 จัดขึ้นที่ เกียวโต ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ระหว่างวันที่ 1-10 ธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2540

• COP26 จัดขึ้นที่ เมืองกลาสโกว์ สหราชอาณาจักร ระหว่างวันที่ 1-12 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2565 คือการประชุมรัฐภาคีกรอบอนุสัญญาสหประชาชาติว่าด้วยการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ สมัยที่ 26 การประชุมนี้ มีความเชื่อมโยงกับความตกลงปารีส หรือ Paris Agreement ที่มีเป้าหมายสำคัญ คือการควบคุมอุณหภูมิ      เฉลี่ยของโลกไม่ให้สูงเกินกว่า 2 องศาเซลเซียส และมุ่งเป้า ไม่ให้เกิน 1.5 องศาเซลเซียสเมื่อเทียบกับก่อนยุคปฏิวัติ อุตสาหกรรม
